A Broken Phoenix Back Plate is a resource item required to craft a Phoenix Back Plate. It is part of the Broken Phoenix Armor set.
Obtaining[]
A Broken Phoenix Back Plate can only be obtained randomly while mining spatial crystals in the Applewood Mines. Level 40 in the Mining talent is required to mine spatial crystals. The room where spatial crystals and Broken Phoenix Back Plates can be mined is easy to recognize, as it is the only room with three level 50 Sandbearer Bats. Broken Phoenix Helmets can also be found in this same room.
It is advised to be prepared to fight the Sandbearer Bats or to bring another player along to fight them while you mine. Spatial crystals take a long time to mine and the player is defenseless to the Sandbearer Bats' attacks while mining unless they stop mining.
Using a chisel to mine will increase the amount of time it takes to mine the spatial crystals, but will also triple the chance to find rare items such as a Broken Phoenix Back Plate.
Higher Mining level increases the chance of getting any Broken Phoenix piece.
Use in Crafting[]
Upon mining their first Broken Phoenix Back Plate, the player will automatically learn the recipe to craft a Phoenix Back Plate.
