A Prismatic Crystal Shard is a quest item for Lighting the Lantern.

It can be found as a reward from defeating any mob. As such, it's best to find a group of mobs that respawn quickly if you're trying to collect them.

It can also be collected from presents during the Winter.

When you interact/talk to Ensemble, there should be a respond that reads "I found some more of that Prismatic Crystal stuff!". Choosing this, you'll be paid 200 bits each. the downside is that you can only do it one at the time and 'not' in stacks.
